1.   Arepa (Corn Cake)

A type of corn cake, often served with butter or white cheese. The arepa in Antioquia is the most common food for paisas and it is consumed at breakfast time or as a companion to almost all meals in Antioquia

2. Empanada (Patty)


It is a stuffed pastry filled with meat, cheese, chicken, potato and rice, usually Deep fried in Colombia. It is usually accompanied by homemade chili or guacamole. They are a food prepared with corn flour. Empanadas make up most of the gastronomic cultures of the Hispanic countries.


3. Bandeja Paisa (Tray Paisa)



It is a typical meal popular in Colombian cuisine, especially Antioquia region, It is very representative by variety of food and the different kinds of meat, accompanied with red beans, rice, sweet plantain, avocado, black pudding and arepa.

4. Sancocho (Type of Soup or Stew)


It is made with many kinds of meat (chicken, hen, pork ribs or cow ribs) with large pieces of plantain, potato, yucca and vegetables as tomato, scallion, cilantro, and corn. It is also served with avocado and a plate of white rice

5.  Tamal Antioqueño (Antioquia’s Tamale)


They are wrapped in plantain leaves, the wrapping is discarded before eating. The dough is softer and wet, with a yellow color. A Antioquia's tamal got big pieces of cooked carrot, potato and other vegetables, chicken and chunks of pork.  It is generally acompanied with avocado and arepa (corn cake)

6. Mondongo Antioqueño (Tripe soup)



Antioquia’s Mondongo is a soup made from diced tripe. It is prepared with beef belly, clean and cut into thin pieces soft pork meat, cooked  for a long time with vegetables carrots, cilantro and potato, accompanied with rice, avocado, lemon and banana. It is a traditional lunch.

7.  Aguapanela (Sweet Drink)




The panela is used as sweet for desserts and traditional drinks as aguapanela, guarapo, coffee, chocolate and custard. It is drunk hot or cold with lemon drops. Usually accompanied with white cheese.
